Who It's For
This service is for adults with IDD who want to work, whether that means a first job, a return to work after a long gap, or a few hours a week to start. You don't have to be "job ready" to begin. Wanting to work is the only requirement; readiness is what we build together.
How It Works
We break the path to employment into steps that make sense:
- Job exploration. Interest inventories, worksite visits, and short job try-outs with partner businesses, so choices are based on real experience, not guesses.
- Workplace skills. Small-group practice on the skills every job needs: schedules and time clocks, workplace communication, dressing for a shift, handling feedback, riding transit to work.
- Job development. We work our local employer relationships to match participants with openings that genuinely fit their strengths and schedule.
- On-the-job coaching. A job coach supports the participant at their worksite, heavily at first and then fading as confidence and natural supports grow. We stay available for check-ins as long as they're wanted.
Our Staffing Approach
Job coaching at the worksite is one-on-one, and workplace-skills sessions run in small groups. Our job coaches are experienced DSPs with additional training in systematic instruction and task analysis, supervised by our Program Director. We coordinate closely with each participant's support coordinator and, where applicable, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) counselors.
